Dr Lucas Nielsen

Chiropractor

Born and raised within Mackay and its surrounds, Lucas graduated from both the Bachelor of Science (Chiropractic) and the Masters of Clinical Chiropractic from Central Queensland University. Having a very active lifestyle with competitive sport, Lucas found that initially chiropractic care helped to improve recovery from various injuries, but he also found that consistent care helped him to perform even better and reduce the risk of the more common injuries. Although stepping back from more representative roles in sport, he continues to nourish the passion for improvement of function and biomechanics in both sporting and non-sporting individuals. Lucas is looking forward to helping you to function better and feel better through Chiropractic care.

Dr Tyson Reed

Chiropractor

Born on the Sunshine Coast and raised in the Mackay region, Tyson graduated from Central Queensland University with a Bachelor of Science (Chiropractic) and a Master of Clinical Chiropractic with Distinction. As an avid sportsman Tyson's first experience with Chiropractic care began after suffering a knee injury playing AFL. After trying many different kinds of treatment with no success, he found that Chiropractic treatment led to a faster recovery time for his injuries. Tyson found that consistent Chiropractic care was the key to helping him stay injury free and enabled him to perform at a high level. Tyson is very enthusiastic about helping people with Chiropractic treatment, as much as he himself was helped by it. Tyson's main areas of interest include treating athletes, pregnant women and children of all ages.

Shantel Wicks

Remedial Massage Therapist

Shantel moved to Mackay just after her 18th birthday and fell in love with the town; and although she wasn't born or raised here, it's always been the place that feels like home to her.

From a young age, Shantel was completely fascinated by how the body works and could be found reading as many snippets of information as she could find. Growing up, she would massage family members for pocket money or as birthday gifts. The feeling of satisfaction from helping relieve pain and get them back to normal function is something that has stayed with Shantel throughout her life and career.

As an active Mum of 3 boys and 1 girl, Shantel's home life includes motocross, weightlifting, skateparks, waterskiing and camping. Watching the hits her boys take on any given day makes her relieved to have the knowledge to help them keep their bodies ready to ride another day!

Shantel holds a Diploma in Remedial Massage and her passion lies with sports and remedial modalities, keeping athletes in peak condition, rehab + injury treatments. Some of her favourite techniques to use include trigger point therapy and myofascial release.

Shantel says "You'll know I'm in the clinic by following my signature scent of deep heat! 🤣"
